About us

The Chester-le-Street branch formed in 1996 when a few local supporters got together to arrange travel to home matches. The branch quickly established itself and is now proud to be the largest branch outside London.

For sixteen years the branch met in the Relton Club, however due to economic changes the decision was made, in August 2011, to move to a new location, still in Chester-le-Street - Easy Street. Easy Street is a comfortable bar with competitively priced beer and lager. The bar is well equipped with several TV's showing all the televised Sunderland matches.

The branch meetings are on the last Tuesday of each month at 8pm in Easy Street.

We also run buses to every home game with discounted fares for members and concessionary rates for senior and junior members. These buses leave Easy Street 1¾ hours before kick-off.

Since the branch was formed we have supported a number of local and national charities, raising thousands of pounds to help maintain the excellent work carried out in the North-East.

As a branch we also have a number of social events throughout the season. Typically these include the Christmas Party in 2009 we were entertained by comedian Lester Crabtree and singer Patrick Hibbert. Our Annual Sporting Dinner is always a great success and the 2010 was no exception. Our guest speaker, Don Goodman, had stories and anecdotes that were appreciated and enjoyed by all, whilst Leslie Gibson's brand of comedy appealed to all present. We also party at the end of each season, regardless of how much or how little there is to celebrate. The 2009/2010 season ended with members enjoying the talents of comedian Rudi West and singing duo Fiktion.

New members are always welcome. Come along to a meeting or contact us for more information.
